We are looking for a 2nd SHIFT Flexo Press Operator for the Cold Spring, KY facility, nestled in the suburbs of Cincinnati, OH and just minutes from the Cincinnati central business district.

Summary/Objective

The Flexographic Press Operator’s primary function is to set up and operate flexo presses to produce items consistent with customer specifications.

Essential Functions

 Set up press. Use appropriate dies, inks and other materials as specified by the order.  Load rolls of stock on the press.

  • Operate press. Make press adjustments as needed to ensure print consistency, quality and registration.  Verify proper color shades, die cuts, etc.  Ensure items are varnished, glued, and/or folded as needed.
  • Mount printing plates properly on cylinders.
  • Adjust and mix inks per job requirement.
  • Obtain approval of product before press run. Run job at pre-determined run speed.  Maintain waste levels within set parameters.  Unload product at end of line.
  • Coordinate press crew efforts with other operators. Train other workers as instructed.
  • Maintain safe, clean workstation. Place waste in appropriate containers.
  • Maintains clean work area and supports procedures and practices dedicated to ensuring products meet safety requirements, customer required standards and regulatory standards.
  • Complete all forms. Maintain records, files, and/or logs as required.
  • Assist other employees as instructed.
  • Inspect, catch, stack and package material as needed.
  • Operate other presses and equipment as requested.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Supervisor.

 Work Environment

 Work is performed in the plant with or near chemicals and operating equipment.  In accordance with our safety program, all employees receive informative training on working with chemicals and operating equipment within the plant.  Atmosphere may contain fumes, odors, dust, etc.  Noise levels fluctuate according to proximity of operating equipment.  Safety glasses and steel-toed shoes are to be worn at all times.  Employee must be able to work any shift with overtime as required.

 

Physical Demands

The following physical qualifications must be met to perform the essential functions of this job: 

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.  Visual acuity sufficient to identify color variations and recognize product defects is need.  Some repetitive motion is required. The ability to see, hear, count, measure, read, and follow verbal directives in English is required

 

Position Type 

This is a full-time position

Regular schedule is Monday -Thursday. Overtime when needed

Experience Required

Education/Experience

2 to 5 years of related printing experience PREFERRED but  not required.

Detailed knowledge of Flexographic and printing methods PREFERRED.
